by Japanese and French research institutions, this joint Workshop
« Frontier 2010 » is the third of a series. The first workshop took
place in 2008 in Albi, and was organized on the occasion of the 150 years of
diplomatic relations between Japan and France, under the auspices of the Embassy of Japan in France, and the Embassy of
France in Japan. The second one was hold at Tohoku University in 2009. These workshops aim to create and reinforce synergies between the
teams by open exchanges on scientific topics in a convivial atmosphere.
日仏研究機関の協力のもと企画・開催されるこのワークショップ《Frontier2010》は、シリーズ第３回目にあたります。第１回目は２００８年アルビにて、日仏交流１５０周年記念の機に、両国大使館の支援を得て開催されました。第２回目は２００９年東北大学にて開かれました。これらのワークショップは、科学面での共通テーマについて和やかな雰囲気の中で率直な意見交換を行い、仏研究機関と東北大学の研究チームによる共同研究を生み出し、強化する相乗効果を目的として開催されています。
Organisé conjointement par les Institutions françaises et japonaises, cet atelier de travail « Frontier 2010 » est le troisième d’une série. Le premier a eu lieu en 2008 à Albi, à l’occasion de la célébration des 150 ans de relations diplomatiques entre le Japon et la France, sous l’égide et avec le soutien de l’Ambassade du Japon en France, et de l’Ambassade de France au Japon. Le second s’est tenu à la Tohoku University en 2009. Ces ateliers ont vocation à créer et à renforcer les synergies entre les groupes de recherche grâce à des échanges ouverts sur diverses thématiques scientifiques, dans une atmosphère conviviale.
The logo of FRONTIER 2010 represents the cathedral, heart of the episcopal city of Albi, and the equestrian statue of the japanese samourai Masamune Date, founder of the modern-day city of Sendai, where the Tohoku University is located. The blue international color links these symbols through time and space, and symbolises the cooperation between the French and Japanese Institutions.
