Academic exchanges

The Institution offers its students the option of substituting part of the academic program for an academic exchange of one semester or more in a university in another country. It is a chance to discover different ways of teaching and thinking, to meet other foreign students, to discover scientific or technical fields that do not form part of the EMAC program and to extend linguistic and cultural knowledge of the country visited.

These academic exchanges occur within the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) framework.

The Bologna Process (LMD: Licence degree - Master degree - Doctoral degree) sets up the political framework in which engineering institutions such as EMAC and the other Ecoles des Mines in GEM group have ordered their training provision to facilitate mutual recognition of their diplomas at the international level.

In addition to the student exchanges, the cooperation agreements allow overseas teachers to come and teach at EMAC, and EMAC teachers go to these institutions to teach.
