English

Three wifi networks are available :

  1. Mines-Visiteurs: for visitors, if you are neither a student nor part of the staff.
  2. eduroam: eduroam is an international network of more than 6000 institutions, dedicated to offer a seamless wireless connection to all its participants. A member of one institution can securely connect to internet in every participating institution, using his/her usual institutional credentials (more on : https://www.eduroam.org).
  3. Mines-Albi: This wifi network is only available to those having an IT account at Mines-Albi (staff, student, Ph.Ds, visiting professors,...).

1 Mines-Visiteurs network

  • To use this network, you have to obtain a login and password from the reception, in the main entrance hall.
  • Activate your wifi connection, choose the "Mines-Visiteurs" network from the list, then open a web browser, enter the login and password obtained from the recptionn and click to validate the terms of use ("Charte d'utilisation").
  • From this network, only web services (HTTP and HTTPS) are available ( no ssh, smtp & al.).

2 - eduroam network

eduroam is an international network allowing members of participating institutions to connect to wifi using their own credentials.

If you read this page before coming to Albi, you should configure your eduroam connection from your home institution before coming here, because you will need a working internet connection to correctly configure your eduroam access. If you already are in the école des mines d'Albi, you can , for this first connection, ask to your host or use a wired connection, available in our library ("centre de documentation"), in the main entrance hall.

On your laptop or mobile phone or tablet:

  • open your web browser and go to the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool site, at this URL : https://cat.eduroam.org
  • Click on "download the eudroam installer' ; your operating system should be automatically detected.
  • For laptop users: launch the installer.
  • For android users: install the cat eduroam application from the app store "Google Play"
  • For iphone users: the configuration file downloaded from the cat.eduroam.org site should open in the preferences tool.
  • For all users: Activate wifi, select the "eduroam" network,
  • Enter your institutional identifier ( which should look like "mylogin@my-institution.edu" ) and your institutional password.
  • For Mines-Albi (students and staff) : monlogin@mines-albi.fr
  • Mines-Albi users (student and staff) can connect to eduroam here in Albi, for example to test your eduroam connection before using it in another institution.

If necessary, here are some additional technical details:

  • The radio cipher protocol we use is WPA2-AES
  • The authentication protocol is EAP-TTLS/PAP.

As an "eduroam" user, you have to accept the terms of use, for our network: (link to add) and for the national network Renater :  charte Renater.

3 - Mines-Albi network : only for Mines-Albi students and staff

If you are a Mines-Albi student or staff (that includes Erasmus students, visiting professors, etc...), you were given credentials (login and password) to use Mines-Albi IT services.

You can use these credentials to connect to our wifi network; the instructions are on our intranet, here:
